The story starts on a dying planet. A young male hears tales of a certain artifact, passed down through the generations. Not wanting to sit around, watching the life drain slowly from his home, as the others seem content in doing;
he starts out on a journey to find what is their last hope.
We're going to skip ahead a bit, for now, what you see before you is the planet some 400 years after the discovery of the runes. The planet is thriving once again, not what any would refer to as 'good as new', but it works.
Each area of the world has a governing rune, which dictates the characteristics and temperature of it's land, and each rune has a guardian; none have ever been defeated. Of course, no-one's tried yet.
The guardians have been known to do something special to runes, if you take one to them and do something in return. This is quite rare however.
